Edward McKaig, DVM
Dr. McKaig is the owner of New Haven Pet Hospital and has provided care for area pets as a general practitioner since 1982. Dr. McKaig’s family moved to Fort Wayne from Michigan when he was 12 years old. Dr. McKaig graduated from Wayne High School and attended Purdue University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science in 1979. He continued on with his education at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. His professional interests include general medicine and surgery. He is a member and past president of Northeast Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. McKaig is married to Cindi, and they have four children, Kendra, Stephanie (Son-in-Law Brian), Alissa (Son-in-law Kyle) and Scott (daughter-in-law Adrianne). They also have 2 bulldogs Pib and Beans. Dr. McKaig spends his free time with his family, playing golf, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
Elizabeth Patrick, DVM
Dr. Elizabeth Patrick has been caring for pets as an associate veterinarian at New Haven Pet Hospital since 2002. Originally from Knightstown, Dr. Patrick received her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science in 1998 from Purdue University and continued on at Purdue to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Her professional interests include ultrasonography and cardiology. She is a member and past president of Northeast Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, a member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Patrick has three cats in her family. In her spare time, Dr. Patrick likes to cook, go fishing and hiking with her family. Dr. Patrick is married, and they have 2 sons.
Dr. Gina Eisenhauer, DVM
Dr. Gina Eisenhauer is originally from Archbold, OH, and attended the University of Findley graduating with a degree in biology and pre-vet. She realized her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian with acceptance into the veterinary school at The Ohio State University, earning her DVM in the spring of 2012. Dr. Eisenhauer and her husband enjoy biking, running, and traveling in their spare time. They also recently adopted a dog, Walter, from the ASPCA. Dr. Eisenhauer joined our team in June of 2012. Dr. Eisenhauer and her husband have 2 children.
Dr. Kyle Krish, DVM
Dr. Kyle Krish started at New Haven Pet Hospital in July of 2012, returning to the area from Las Vegas. Dr. Krish and his wife met in high school and attended the University of Indianapolis. After graduating with a biology/chemistry degree he was welcomed into the veterinary school at Purdue. Upon graduation in 2011, Dr. Krish worked in a large veterinary practice in Las Vegas for one year and then accepted the opportunity to practice in New Haven. He and his wife have 3 sons and 2 daughters. Dr. Krish enjoys jogging with his mixed breed dogs Samson and Indy. He also enjoys playing and watching sports, traveling and spending time with family. His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and neurology. Dr. Krish is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Jenna Fausett, DVM
Dr Jenna Fausett was born and raised in Fort Wayne. She grew up with many pets and wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age. Dr. Fausett attended Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012 receiving a Biology degree. She graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2016. She has 2 dogs at home and is married. She and her husband have a son who was born in 2018. She enjoys hiking with the dogs, reading, sewing and painting in her spare time. Her professional interests are surgery and critical care.
Cindi joined our staff in 2009 after a long hiatus from the veterinary field to be home and raise four children. She enjoys interacting with clients, hearing their stories, and helping them provide excellent care for their pets. Outside the office, Cindi enjoys hiking, reading, biking and traveling with her husband. Cindi is enjoying spoiling her grandchildren.
Ashley P., RVT and Office Manager has been employed with us since March of 2008. She received her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from the Vet Tech Institute at International Business College in 2007. Her veterinary interests include anesthesia, radiology and patient care. She also enjoys sharing her knowledge and teaching her technical skills to those interested in pursing a career as a veterinary technician. Born and raised in the New Haven area, Ashley now resides in Fort Wayne with her husband, their 2 boys and daughter. They share their home with Maleiya (Pit Bull). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing softball and reading.
Angie, RVT, has been employed with us since 2004. She graduated from Purdue University Veterinary Technician Distance Learning Program in 2012. Her interests include, but are not limited to: Nutrition, Behavior and Radiology. You can usually hear her throughout the clinic with her contagious laughter or using her "inside voice". Born and raised in Fort Wayne, she now resides in Swayzee, IN with her husband and 2 boys. They share their home with a French Bulldog and 2 cats.
Sarah, RVT has been with New Haven Pet Hospital since December, 2010, bringing experience from a number of veterinary clinics in the Fort Wayne area. A graduate from Morehead State University, in Morehead, KY with an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology in 1997. Her veterinary interests include dentistry, patient care, laboratory testing and client education. Married, sharing their home with a dog Trigger (greyhound) and 6 cats (Mohawk, Snots, Eleanor, Leah, Mango, and Turnip). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies and going on road rallies. Sarah also helps out a local pet rescue by being a foster parent.
Alyx, RVT has been with New Haven Pet Hospital since August of 2013, having received her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from the Vet Tech Institute at International Business College in 2008. She loves surgery/ anesthesia and patient care. She is married to her junior high sweetheart. Alyx is the proud pet parent to a pair of cats and a dachshund. When not at work she is enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Shelby, RVT has been with us since 2014. Shelby is currently our Lead Technician. During her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and singing karaoke. Shelby likes working for us because of the wonderful team atmosphere. Her favorite part of the job is being able to watch the patients grow and helping them feel better when sick. Some fun facts about Shelby include; She is married to her high school sweetheart, loves big fluffy dogs and lives in Ohio! You will also hardly ever see Shelby without a smile on her face. Shelby has 2 dogs and 2 cats. Shelby and her husband have 2 sons.
Teala, our Lead Receptionist, has been with us since August of 2008. She has worked as a veterinary assistant at other clinics in the area since 2003. She has a degree from Ivy Tech State College in Medical Office Administration. Teala has a true love for animals and enjoys educating clients on the medical needs of their pets. When not at work she enjoys time with her husband and snuggling up with her kitties to watch a good movie.
Melissa is mom to 3 great kids ages...13, 9, and 3. She shares her home with a boxer named Leo. She enjoys watching her son play football and her daughter ride horses. She has been married to her amazing husband for 10 years. When she is not working with us during the day she is an Occupational therapy assistant at Parkview. A funny tidbit about Melissa is that she can't stand beef and cabbage...not even the smell. She said when she retires she would like to move to Florida to train dolphins.
Tanith started at the hospital in 2011. She previously worked for another clinic for 12 years. She holds a B.S. in biology and an A.S. in chemistry from Purdue. Tanith is currently our Lead Assistant. She is one of the instructors of our Puppy Start Right Preschool program and is currently studying animal behavior. When not working, she enjoys traveling with her husband going to antique stores and auctions, or just staying home with her furkids: a Pitbull named Heinz, pocket bully Effie, and cats Scooter, Lalo, and Yoda.
Autumn started in December 2020 as a veterinary assistant. She is going to school at Penn Foster to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has an interest in exotic animals and a passion for education. She currently has a dog named Persephone. She enjoys traveling and finding all the best places to eat!
Megan has been with the hospital since 2013 as a veterinary assistant. She has enjoyed spending time with animals since she was a child, pet sitting for family and friends whenever needed. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends Megan also loves the outdoors. She has 2 children and is married.
Lorena started as a vet assistant with us in 2021 but has always had interests in veterinary medicine. She is currently in school to become a RVT. She is very interested in exotics and has even gone to South Africa to work exclusively with cheetahs and other African wildlife. When she is not working she enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She currently has one dog Rizzo and one cat Apollo.
Janie has been a Registered Veterinary Technician going on six years now as of 2021. She graduated with her associates in veterinary science from International Business College, and has been working with animals ever since. She shares her home with her wonderful boyfriend Ian and their two fur children Lupin the cat and Lexi the husky. She hopes to someday work for a specialty hospital focusing on rehabilitation for animals.
Ashley joined our team in July 2016. Ashley enjoys meeting all of the clients and patients that walk in the door. She is a mother of one and has 2 dogs. When not at work, she loves to spend time with her husband and daughter. In the summer she enjoys being outdoors and camping.
Heather started with us in February 2019. She started in boarding as a kennel technician and then transitioned into becoming a veterinary assistant. She currently has 3 bunnies, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 lizard. In her free time she loves going camping and traveling to different places. She has been to Paris and London and absolutely loved it.
Karli has been employed since July of 2016. She has previously worked in human medicine but has always dreamed of working with animals. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves meeting all the dogs and cats that come into work.
Julia has been with New Haven Pet Hospital since August 2014. Working in kennels has given her the opportunity to create amazing bonds with all the animals who come on board with us. Julia is currently one of our Puppy Start Right Preschool teachers She makes sure each and every animal gets special love and attention with every visit. She is currently attending Ivy Tech to get her associates in applied sciences. She is in the hospitality management program with a concentration in culinary arts. She is planning to go into a catering field or to become a personal chef. You can catch her playing video games, building puzzles, or catching up on some tv shows in her free time.
Nikki, Kennel Attendant, has been with New Haven Pet Hospital since September of 2015. She loves to make the pets feel welcome and happy while staying with us. She loves when the pets are very excited to stay! She likes to get to know them and their owners and loves the client relationships she has gained over the love of their pet. Her favorite saying is, "While they are here, they are mine, and will be spoiled rotten!" She and her husband have twin boys, 1 black cat (Sophia) and a mini poodle (Shaggie Dog) at home. Her hobbies include archery, sewing, cooking, crochet and weaving. She also is an avid reader.
Kaylee is a total animal lover so working in the kennels and as a pet sitter it's never work, it’s her passion. Walking into the kennel and seeing all of the dogs and cats so excited to see her warms her heart! She shows, raises, and trains boxers alongside her mother.
Kara started working as a kennel technician in May 2021. She has worked at multiple Doggy Daycares in Fort Wayne over the past 5 years. Her hobbies include arts & crafts, photography, and swimming. She rescued a black cat last winter in 2020 named Mushu that has Wobbly Cat Syndrome.
Nicole came back to us in June of 2018 as a veterinary assistant after working as a kennel attendant from 2007-2015. Nicole has been married to her husband Chris, since 2013, they share their home with 2 pit bulls (Boo & Scrappy) and 3 cats (Sassy, Cali and Patches). In her free time, Nicole enjoys shopping, going to wineries and spending time with family and friends.
Emily joined us in August of 2019 as a Kennel Attendant and Veterinary Assistant. She previously worked at her local humane society but has been involved with various animals her whole life. She enjoys working with animals and hopes to be involved in 4-H wherever she goes. Emily has a horse, goats, chickens, cats, dogs, fish, and a snake (pictured above). Emily truly has a heart for animals and looks forward to any opportunity to gain more knowledge about them. Don't get her started on chicken keeping!
Amy joined our team in the fall of 2012. She loves working with our clients and their pets. She has a very gentle touch and specializes in geriatric and difficult pets. Amy is certified in animal CPR. Amy got her training from Texas All Breed Grooming School and is certified to groom all breeds of both dogs and cats. In her spare time she volunteers for S.C.A.R (Second Chance Animal Rescue). Her animal companions include 3 rescue dogs. Amy is the proud mother of one son.
